We make our bras and leggings to last, but wear and tear can take its toll. When you’re finished with your old Compressive bras, leggings (and unitards), and shorts, send them to us to be recycled into new ones using the button above. You’ll get $15 store credit, avoid creating more waste on the planet, and help us close the loop. It’s like a total win-win.
Only 1% of clothing is recycled — the rest is tossed into landfills, downcycled, or burned — and the average American throws away an estimated 81 pounds of clothes each year. (Yikes.) We want to put an end to the fast fashion cycle of buying things that don’t last — and throwing them away before their use is up.
From the beginning, we designed our leggings to be recyclable with minimal spandex content and without other fibers that can’t be sorted out. (Some other activewear fabrics mix lots of different fibers which restricts recyclability.) This allows us to easily separate the fibers, recycle them, and fully close the loop.
To send in your old Girlfriend, select the item you’re recycling from the drop down above. Proceed to checkout to purchase a shipping label, then send your item back to us. We’ll send you a gift card for $15 via email 5-7 days after your package arrives at USPS.
Once we receive your item, we work with our partners, Unifi in North Carolina, to shred the leggings, separate the polyester from the spandex, and regenerate the fibers into fabric for new Girlfriend pieces. Meanwhile, you’ll be spending your store credit on whatever your heart desires. Nice.
